The Fortnite ecosystem is an amazing place. You can hear someone squealing about the new mod, and your random teammates start yelling about how good it is, they should win the last Champions League.

However, this is not the main reason why Fortnite is so hated. Instead, the problem is deeper than you might imagine. Now, that doesn't mean you have to follow everyone else and stop playing the games you love, but it can still feel a little stressful.

There are many players who hate Fortnite for its unpleasant player environment. This societal toxicity can be morally damaging for many. There are people who just need something to hate. However, the basic confusion of the epic game may be the biggest reason.

Of course, players are often notorious for exaggerating things into reality. That being said, hating on Fortnite is slowly becoming a trend.

Since its release in 2017, the game has continued to experience a huge boom. The game became especially popular with children who ritualized the emotions and dances of the game. Fortnite did not hesitate to take advantage of this and the trend continued to grow.

Growing so fast while beating previous popular titles like PUBG and Call of Duty was definitely enough to make the game widely hated. At the beginning of 2018, Fortnite had a total of 40 million players.

As the trend continued to grow, parents became hesitant to let their children play the game for extended periods of time. The reason was simple: their children became dangerously addicted to the game. This subsequently created a negative stigma in the community.

Epic Games has become a factory that throws skins at this point. They don't listen to much of the public and just do what makes the most money. Being such a big brand can have its own challenges.

Some tweets saying "The Game is Dead" have gone viral. Many players were disappointed by what Epic Games called "permanent feature improvements".
